Dr Louise Dibsall and Camille Barker ( Public Health Principal) from Redbridge Council  came to talk to our members about Covid 19 as apparently Redbridge has the highest incidents of this in the whole of London.

The best way to avoid catching Coronavirus is to frequently wash your hands, wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth and to socially distance yourself ( 2 meters) from other people.

This should help stop the spread of the virus.

Another thing you can do is to download the NHS Test and Trace app onto your phone, which is free and will let you know if you have been in contact with anyone who test positive for Covid19 so that you can self-isolate for fourteen days.  It also has a QR code which you can scan when you enter premises displaying this sign to save you giving your contact details.

The symptom of Coronavirus , as everyone should know,  are a high temperature a new continuous cough a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste.

If you have any of these symptoms, and only if you have these symptoms, you should have yourself tested.  Redbridge has two test centres - the Mildmay Test Centre in Ilford and Gants Hill Library both are open 7 days a week 8am to 8pm.  You cannot just turn up at the testing centres, you must book an appointment either online or by phoning the Wellbeing Service (0208 708 5555) or NHS 119 for support
